Where did it begin?
Started in mid-2016 by Chad Nicholas Zerofux was basically an idea to try and do something very difficult. Always being employed by others and making them money it was time to try and build something from nothing and try and build it to a full-time brand. With a love for street culture, skateboarding and tattoo art a brands aesthetic was born. With Chad being color blind af the brand has stuck with the main color schemes of black, white red and grey. It first started with spending a few hundred dollars on 15 snap backs which featured the ZF Pirates r us logo which went quite well and had valuable feedback.
Then we moved on to some low-cut snap backs which was a lesson learnt as the quality was not what we wanted but it was due to not taking time and having patience. During this time, we worked on the first top and then introduced the "gimme the loot" tees and long sleeves. About this time, we met Ruckus Garvey who was in Hip hop duo Misfits of science (you tube their track "fools love" its dope) and he wore a "Gimme the loot" crew and a snap back in his video for "chip on my shoulder"(video below) (this was massive! couldn’t have been more grateful but also proud)
From then it was just a flurry of new drops and more sponsored artists and more hustling. The goal is not just to grow the brand but make it a family, a movement and a staple in NZ street wear!
Hope this gives you an insight to the brand, from a humble start to now and you can resonate with Zerofux and what we are about.
